Position Details

The Village of River Grove Illinois is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Paramedic.

Part-Time Paramedics, as well as other Village Employees, are considered at-will employees.

Applicants need to be Paramedic at time of hire.

Minimum qualifications include:

• 21 years of age
• U.S. Citizen
• High school graduate or state approved equivalent
• Applicant must not possess any felony convictions or any domestic related convictions
• Applicant must be of good moral character and be in good mental and physical condition
• Applicant must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnight
• At the time of hire, the Applicant must possess an IDPH Paramedic License and a Letter of Good Standing from their current resource hospital 
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License

All qualified applicants will be required to:

• Sign off on release for personal information authorization forms.
• Pass an in-person interview.
• Pass a thorough background investigation, which includes interviews with current and/or all previous employers.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Pass a field training program.

River Grove Fire Department (RGFD) participates in the Loyola EMS System. Therefore, if applicants are chosen to participate in the hiring process and not in Loyola’s EMS System, they must successfully test in before being hired.
