Position Details

Starting Salary:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

• Education: minimum of H.S. diploma or GED
• Age: Must be 21 years of age and under 35 by date of the written examination. (Age limitation imposed by State statute 65ILCS 5/10 – 2.1 – 6.3c.); Review this statue for it’s three exceptions to the age requirement
• EMT-Paramedic Certification or be currently enrolled in a paramedic education program
• Firefighter II Certification or Basic Operations Firefighter Certification (IFSAC & DoD Firefighting certifications will also be accepted)
• No felony convictions and good moral character
• No residency requirement
• Valid IL Driver’s License in good standing
• Valid CPAT card with Ladder Climb issued on or after June 25, 2017
• $20 non-refundable application fee

SELECTION PROCESS:

• Orientation
• Written exam
• Background investigation
• Oral interviews
• Psychological exam
• Polygraph
• Medical exam
