Salary:

• Starting salary as of January 1, 2026: $82,687.50

  Those meeting lateral qualifications could start anywhere from $93,075.06 to $124,237.73, depending on years of experience

The Oswego Police Department intends to establish a Police Officer Eligibility List (Register) with candidates interested in growing with our community, who come from diverse backgrounds to strengthen our community-oriented approach to policing, and who are up to the challenge of approaching each day as an opportunity to do things better. Police Officers are responsible for enforcing all State and Local Laws and upholding the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions.
