This is a full-time position that requires working various shifts.
The starting salary range is $57,446.00 to $78,722.00 depending on qualifications at the discretion of the Chief of Police in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.
Members of the Police Department represented by a collective bargaining are currently negotiating a successor agreement.
The Cary Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.
Solicitation is being conducted to fill full-time current Police Officer vacancies and to establish an Alternate Eligibility Register (Lateral Entry) for available positions. This Eligibility Register will remain in effect for two years or until exhausted.
Further documentation may be required to complete the background investigation process.
All portions of the alternate testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and complete any portion of the process will result in elimination from employment consideration.
