Position Details

The City of Wisconsin Rapids is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• U.S. Citizenship
• A minimum of 18 years of age at time of appointment
• Associate Degree in Police Science, or a college degree in a related field, or a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level courses attested by a transcript from the college
• Completion of Basic Police Recruit Training with Wisconsin Certification at time of hire
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license
• Fluent in speaking and writing English
• Ability to maintain the legal right to possess firearms
• Ability to swim and survive in water rescue operations
• Vision at least correctable 20/20
• Ability to distinguish color
• Must live within 30 miles of the city's jurisdictional boundaries within one year of appointment
