Position Details

Description:

Dependable, dedicated individual to serve as a part-time Police Officer in the Village of Maywood. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to serve and protect the Village of Maywood, its residents and visitors.

Applicants must: 

• Be US Citizens
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have a valid Illinois State Driver's License
• Have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and good writing skills, college or some college a plus
• Have a valid Illinois Police Officer Certification 

Examples of Duties: 

• Serve and protect the Village of Maywood, its residents and visitors
• Prepare reports (i.e., arrest reports, etc.)
• Ensure adherence to Village Codes and Ordinances, as appropriate
• Respond to Police-related calls
• All other duties according to the letter of law, CBA and as it pertains to this position 

Typical Qualifications:

• High school graduate/GED equivalent
• College graduate or some college a plus
• Valid Illinois State Driver's License
• Must have and maintain a good driving record
• Valid Illinois Police Officer Certification required
• Excellent communication and good writing skills
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving perjury, false statements, moral turpitude, or domestic violence
• Must live within and continue to maintain residence within 15 miles of the boundaries of the Village of Maywood, as determined by the Village of Maywood (touch rule applies)
• Must adhere to a flexible work schedule
• Bilingual, English/Spanish, a plus
