  Range: $70,054.40 - $107,203.20

Position Details

The Village of Bloomingdale is seeking candidates for one (1) full-time Police Records Supervisor.

This position is responsible for supervising the personnel and daily operations of the Records Section within the Police Department. Work is performed under the direction of the Administrative Deputy Chief. This is a full-time, non-exempt position working approximately 40 hours per week, with occasional weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Oversee daily operations and staff in the Records Section.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate employees. Assign and review work.
• Prepare various reports, including monthly statistics and annual crime summaries. Audit statistical data for accuracy and correct errors.
• Assist with departmental payroll and benefit time tracking.
• Assign and maintain officer court dates in coordination with the Circuit Court Clerk.
• Process expungement orders and verifies for court files.
• Participate in DuPage County Records Management and internal supervisory meetings.
• Develop and design departmental forms.
• Oversee microfilming and shredding.
• Oversee FOIA requests and responses.
• Assist with budget planning for the Records Section.
• Prepare and oversee data for the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) and Uniformed Crime Reporting (UCR). 

Qualifications:

• Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Also required is three to five years of progressively responsible clerical experience, including some supervisory experience, preferably within a police department.
• Vocational or technical training in Office Management or a related field is also preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
• This position requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to create and maintain a positive workplace relationship with all Village staff and the public.
• The successful candidate must be able to learn, interpret, and communicate policies, procedures, and standards, and apply them appropriately to a variety of situations.
• Strong communication skills, the ability to learn and work with various software systems and digital tools, and the ability to perform intermediate-level data analysis tasks are essential to this position.
