Position Details

The Bedford Park Fire Department is staffed by 58 full-time sworn professionals. Operating out of three fire stations with two engines, one truck, two ambulances, and a Battalion Chief on duty 24/7, 365 days a year.

As a member of MABAS 21, our department provides mutual aid to surrounding suburbs for fire, EMS, and Hazmat responses. We maintain a daily minimum staffing level of 14 sworn personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of hire and under the age of 35; unless exempt by Illinois State Statute 65 ILCS 10-2.1-6.3
• US Citizenship
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• IDPH or National Registry Paramedic by date of hire.
• Basic Operations Firefighter Certification by date of hire.
• CPAT & Ladder Climb by date of hire
