• $78,090 - $117,148 (Contract expires April 2026)

  Benefits:

  • Entry level Officer salary is $78,090 but based on experience the Lateral Officer Salary could be increased to $100,412. 
  • Comprehensive benefit package including BlueCross BlueShield Illinois healthcare plans (HMO   and PPO available), Dental, and Life Insurance
  • Flexible spending account, deferred compensation plans, and an employee assistance program are also available
  • Eighty (80) hours of vacation after first year (3.077 per pay period).
  • Ninety-six (96) Holiday hours banked at the beginning of each fiscal year
  • Ninety-six (96) hours of sick time annually
  • All uniforms, equipment, and body armor are provided except firearms
  • Patrol Officers work a 12 hour schedule with having Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off every other weekend

Position Details

Police Officer Full-Time – Lateral Entry

Requirements:

• At least 21 years old, and under 35 years old, or as otherwise permitted by law
• United States citizen
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid driver's license
• At least two (2) years of experience as a full-time sworn, certified law enforcement officer with an Illinois law enforcement agency
• State of Illinois certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (Part-time certification as a law enforcement officer does not meet this requirement.)
