FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC Employment Opportunity

The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Northwest Homer Fire Protection & Ambulance Service District are seeking applicants to establish an eligibility list for firefighter/paramedics.

Applicants must be:

• High school graduates or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 to 35 years of age unless otherwise exempt by statute and licensed EMT-B.
• Upon offer of employment, Illinois Certified Firefighter Basic, Illinois Licensed Paramedic
• CPAT Certified (current within last 12 months)
• Applicants are eligible to apply for preference points for:
• Experience, Veterans and Education 
• Applicants shall be subjected to:
• Criminal background checks
• Employment background checks
• Background interview
• Medical examination (post offer of employment)
