The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the City of Burbank is now accepting applications for the position of Entry Level Law Enforcement.
Testing is being conducted for IMMEDIATE HIRES and to establish a new Eligibility List for future hiring needs.
Burbank is located in Cook County at the southwestern edge of Chicago, the City of Burbank offers a prime location just 12 miles from the downtown Loop. Bordered by Oak Lawn, Bridgeview, and Bedford Park, Burbank provides a welcoming environment ideal for both families and businesses. Established in 1982, the Burbank Police Department is a highly trained, professional law enforcement agency comprised of 53 sworn members. The department is committed to excellence in public safety and community service. Supervisory personnel are required to complete advanced leadership training through prestigious institutions such as the Police Institute of Northwestern University and the FBI National Academy.
The department currently operates on a 12-hour shift schedule, offering officers every other weekend off to support work-life balance. Burbank Police Officers are presently engaged in contract negotiations and are represented by the Illinois Council of Police (ICOPs) collective bargaining unit.
