Entry Level Police Officer

Department Overview:

The Lisle Police Department consists of 41 sworn officers, including a Chief, Deputy Chief, and five Sergeants, and 8 professional staff members. The department has a state-of-the-art facility complete with a firing range, modern evidence processing lab, and training and fitness rooms. Officers enjoy working 12-hour shifts and participate in extensive levels of ongoing training. Officers have the ability to exercise while on duty and participate in job enrichment programs. The department also offers a variety of specialty positions, including Detective, Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician, Emergency Management Specialist, SWAT Operator/Negotiator, Mobile Field Force Operator, Bike Patrol, Accident Reconstructionist, and School Resource Officer.

Job Requirements:

• Age: Must be 21 years old at the time of application and under the age of 35 (as of the posting of the initial eligibility list unless otherwise provided by 65ILCS 5/10-2.1-6). Exemptions for military or prior police experience.
• Citizenship Required: Must be U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
• High School Grad/GED: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Driver's License: Valid driver's license (does not need to be IL)
• Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
• Vision: Binocular vision correctable to 20/20
• Additional Requirements:
• No felony conviction
• POWER Card: POWER Certification Card (must not be dated more than 6 months prior to the application date)
