  • Starting: $82,767
  • With 2% Rapid Deployment Pay (after police academy): $84,423
  • After 1 year: $102,513
  • After 5 Years (Top Out): $120,604
  • Master Patrol Officer: $124,151
  • Up to $1,200 Annual Education Pay for Law Enforcement Related Degrees

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of credit at a college or university accredited by a recognized regional or national accrediting body. (Military service, work-related training, or work-related certifications may be considered in lieu of or in combination with college credit.)
• Have vision correctable to 20/20
• United States citizen
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Firearm Owner Identification (FOID)
• P.O.W.E.R. test card issued no more than 12 months prior to date of written examination
• Pass all stages of the hiring process
• Must reside within a 30-mile radius within 18 months of hire

Bolingbrook Police Department - Entry Level Police Officer

The Bolingbrook Police Department will be accepting applications for the position of Police Officer until January 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM for entry level applicants who are not current law enforcement officers.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or GED and at least sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of credit at a college or university accredited by a recognized regional or national accrediting body. (Military service, work-related training, or work-related certifications may be considered in lieu of or in combination with college credit.)
• 21 years old by date of hire; maximum age of 35 years at time of appointment (unless otherwise exempt by Illinois Statute)
• United States citizen
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) Card at time of appointment
• Applicants must submit proof of passing the POWER Test at time of written examination
