Qualified applicants will receive separate testing notifications via email and must be available to participate on the date/time scheduled; no make-up tests will be given.
Testing will consist of the following components:
- Physical agility testing: Candidates will be required to complete a 500-yard run, an obstacle course, scale a chain link fence and a solid fence, and complete a body drag. Candidates are required to successfully finish each component in order to move forward and accumulate a minimum combined score of 384 points.
- Writing assignment: The topic to be announced at successful completion of the physical agility testing.

Arizona POST Certified Officer Applicants:
- In order to apply as an AZPOST certified lateral Police Officer, candidates must have successfully completed an AZPOST approved Police Officer Academy and currently possess an active AZPOST Peace Officer Certification.
- Applicants currently certified by AZPOST will not be required to attend the academy.
Out-of-State Lateral Officer Applicants:
- Out-of-state lateral Police Officers must have successfully completed a sworn Police Officer Academy and currently possess an active Peace Officer Certification.
- Out-of-State Lateral Officers may be able to gain AZPOST Certification through the waiver process, and if successfully completed, will not be required to attend the academy.

- TBD - National Police Officer Selection Test (POST) ONLINE. Lake Havasu City Police Department has partnered with Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) to administer the POST exam. This exam will consist of Arithmetic, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, and Incident Report Writing. This component will be approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. An overall passing score of 70% is required in order to move forward. Candidates who successfully complete the POST exam will be invited to participate in the Physical agility test. Candidates may purchase at their own expense a Practice National Police Officer Selection Test and POST Study Guide at https://www.applytoserve.com/Study/.
