The Round Lake Beach Police Department is seeking experienced and motivated candidates for the part-time position of Truck Enforcement Officer.

This role focuses on the enforcement of commercial motor vehicle regulations while also supporting the full scope of police operations, including traffic enforcement, patrol duties, and calls for service.

This is an excellent opportunity for retired or semi-retired law enforcement professionals looking to stay active in the field with a flexible schedule and a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of commercial vehicles for weight, size, and safety compliance
• Enforce local, state, and federal commercial vehicle laws
• Operate portable truck scales and specialized equipment
• Issue citations and complete accurate enforcement documentation
• Support general patrol functions, including traffic stops and community engagement
• Collaborate with patrol units and partner agencies on safety initiatives
