Position Details

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Auxiliary Police Officers in the Village of Franklin Park.

Hours vary and include Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. No fringe benefits.

Qualifications:

1. Must be a minimum of 21 years old
2. Possess a valid IL driver's license and Firearms Owner ID (FOID) card
3. Able to pass a 40 hour Firearms Training course
4. Satisfactorily complete an in-house training program and a criminal background investigation
5. High School diploma
6. Must have data entry experience
7. Must be a U.S. citizen

Residency Requirement:

• Must reside within twenty-five (25) miles of the corporate boundaries of the village

Duties would include, but are not limited to:

1. Collection of coins from parking meters
2. Issuing tickets for parking violations
3. Directing traffic and other duties as assigned by the Director of Police

Successful candidates will be required to attend 80 hours of preliminary training with pay and purchase own firearm and equipment. Uniforms will be provided by the Police Department.
