Entry-Level Police Officer Hiring Process

Lindenhurst Police Department

Lindenhurst, Illinois

The Board of Police Commissioners of the Village of Lindenhurst, Illinois is accepting applications for the position of police officer with the Lindenhurst Police Department.

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements established by the Village of Lindenhurst:

• U.S. citizenship;
• No felony convictions (Note: a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants from further consideration);
• Valid state-issued driver's license;
• Possess 20/20 corrected vision and shall not be colorblind in a manner that renders a person unable to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position;
• Minimum of 21 years of age by the application deadline date (January 10, 2020);
• Must be UNDER 35 years of age, unless subject to the age exception provisions of 65 ILCS 5/10- 2.1-6(d);
• Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. equivalent;
• Possess a valid P.O.W.E.R. Test card issued within 6 months of the application deadline date (January 10, 2020);
• P.O.W.E.R. Test Cards issued by NIPSTA, Triton College or Joliet Junior College will also be accepted.
• Pay a $45.00 non-refundable application processing fee;
• Application deadline date: Friday, January 10, 2020 at 4:00 PM;
• Attend a mandatory orientation/written examination on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 9 AM.
