Police Officer Minimum Requirements:

• $35 non-refundable application fee
• U.S. citizenship
• Valid Illinois driver’s license with a good driving history
• Must be 21-35 years of age unless exempt under 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6
• Must have at least 60 credit hours or an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university
• No criminal record
• Must have excellent moral character
• Vision correctable to 20/20
• FOID Card eligible at time of hire
• Applicants must hold a valid POWER Card issued within 12 months prior to application deadline (January 15, 2020). POWER Cards are considered valid if dated 1/15/19 – 1/15/20.

Orientation and Testing Information:

Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on:

Sign-in begins at 8:00 a.m. Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in. There will be no late admittance.
