Salary:

• Starting salary is $63,200.80 annually and increases to $68,809.00 after a 15-month probationary period.

  This position is covered under the City of Champaign Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Bargaining Unit labor agreement.

POLICE OFFICER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• $25 non-refundable application fee*;
• U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States (must meet the Dept of Homeland Security Employment Eligibility requirements at time of hire);
• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• 21 years of age by: May 25, 2020; September 28, 2020; May 24, 2021; or September 27, 2021
• Valid Driver's License;
• No felony convictions. NOTE: Some convictions for misdemeanors or serious traffic offenses may also disqualify applicants from further consideration;
• Completion and submission of online application and all required documents by 4:00 p.m. CST by application deadline. 

* The application fee can be waived for candidates experiencing financial hardship.

All portions of the testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and successfully complete any portion of the testing process will result in elimination from employment consideration.
