Kenilworth is located approximately 17 miles north of downtown Chicago, and is the newest of the eight Chicago suburban communities fronting on Lake Michigan, commonly referred to as "the North Shore." Of the communities in the area, Kenilworth is the only one developed as a planned community. Along Lake Michigan and the Metra's Union Pacific North Line (the Kenilworth stop is across the street from the Police department). Kenilworth has a population of around 2,500 residents and is known for its historic character, residential charm, and high quality of life.
The Kenilworth Police Department exists to protect our citizens and to provide a secure environment in which to pursue a quality lifestyle. To do so, the Kenilworth Police Department strives to work with the citizens to identify and correct areas of concern to the community.
The goal of the Kenilworth Police Department is to continually improve the delivery of police services to the Village of Kenilworth.
The Police Department has a full kitchen, a locker room with shower facilities, a fitness room, and a firearms range that was updated in 2024.
