Position Details

The Village of Libertyville is seeking a qualified individual to fill the part-time Community Service Officer vacancy in its Police Department.

Community Service Officers (CSOs) provide a wide variety of field and administrative support to law enforcement staff and the public. The position involves a significant amount of public contact, with high levels of customer service being a priority. CSOs conduct parking enforcement; handle animal, non-criminal, and private property accident complaints; provide vehicle and pedestrian traffic control; and various other duties as assigned.

General Education, Experience, and License Requirements:

• H.S. diploma/GED or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to become LEADS certified
• Excellent communication, written and customer service skills
• Basic knowledge of computers and common Office software
• Requires ability to exercise discretion and judgement, and work independently following established guidelines and procedures
• Requires ability to maintain confidentiality of information and sensitive material
