Police Officer (Part-Time)

The Village of Island Lake is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-time Police Officer.

Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

Position Summary:

This part-time police position involves a variety of traditional policing duties, along with providing police services for community events.

This part-time position position does not advance to a full-time police officer position; there is a separate testing process for full-time police officers.

Qualifications:

• United States citizen

• 21 years of age

• High School Diploma

• Must be currently certified with a Law Enforcement Basic Training Course by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

• Valid driver’s license

• Must not have been convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanors, as defined by the statute

• Must participate in and complete all stages of the hiring process which may include, but not be limited to: oral interview, extensive background investigation, polygraph and post offer physical and drug screen
