Salary:

• Lateral Entry Officers may qualify for the following pay increases:

  Lateral Officers with four (4) or more years of experience earn $109,377.99, increasing to $113,753.11 beginning May 1, 2026.

  Benefits:

  • Initial uniforms and equipment provided by the Department; annual uniform allowance
  • Excellent health, dental and life insurance at a 15.5% premium
  • Compensatory accrual up to 80 hours
  • Investigations, Officer In-Charge (OIC), and Field Training Officer (FTO) stipends
  • Educational pay incentive of $800 for those who possess Associate Degrees and $1200 for those who possess a Bachelor’s Degree. 
  • Educational Reimbursement for attainment of Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree, while employed with the Village.

Position Details

To be eligible:

• Applicant must be Illinois Law Enforcement Certified - OR - meet the out of state trained reciprocity requirements
• Must have served full time for at least two (2) years with a Law Enforcement Department
