Position Details

The Village of Carol Stream will be testing for the position of entry-level Police Officer on:

Saturday, February 22, 2020

To be considered for employment, candidates must meet the following basic requirements: 

• US Citizenship
• Must be at least 21 years of age and less than 35 years of age as of April 12, 2020 (Date of Posting Final List)
• High School Degree or Equivalent
• Uncorrected vision of 20/100 in each eye, correctable to 20/20 with good color vision (For applicants with corrected vision of 20/20 both eyes together with soft contact lenses, there is no minimum uncorrected visual acuity requirement)
• Must be of good moral character
• $15 non-refundable processing fee payable to "Village of Carol Stream" due upon submittal of applications 

Note: Following the written examination process, the eligibility list will be good for two years. As vacancies occur, the next eligible candidate will complete a polygraph with background investigation, oral interview, physical agility test, psychological & medical examinations. Candidates may be disqualified at any of these stages.

beginning at 9:00 AM

Late arrivals will not be permitted. Applicants must provide a photo ID to participate. The location of the examination as well as a study guide will be provided upon receipt and approval of application and fee.

For those who receive a score of 70% or above on the written examination, a mandatory Oral Board interview will be scheduled for the week of March 9th. The actual Oral Board interview date/time will be scheduled by random selection only. The Oral Board interview score will account for 20% of the overall list eligibility score. To qualify for the eligibility list, the overall passing score will be 75%.
