Position Details

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS

The Village of Union Police Department is seeking applicants for Part-Time Police Officers.

We are a charming small McHenry County town, and perfect for the recently retired officer or those wanting a slower-paced law enforcement position.

Requirements:

1. Be of good moral character, of temperate habits, of sound health, and physically and mentally able to perform assigned duties
2. Be at least 21 years of age
3. Pass a medical examination and such other test(s) as may be required by the Village; -oral interview -extensive background investigation -post-offer physical/drug/psychological test
4. Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
5. Possess a valid driver's license
6. Possess no prior felony convictions or certain misdemeanors by statute
7. Any individual who has served in the U.S. military must have been honorably discharged
8. Be a currently certified police officer in good standing, having been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board under Section 8.1 of the Illinois Police Training Act (50 ILCS 705/8.1), and currently working as a police officer in good standing for an Illinois law enforcement agency; or has left his/her agency in good standing within the past 12 months
