Salary:

• $68,121.92 – $93,748.30

  Benefit Package:

  • A uniform allowance of $1,500.00 will be provided upon hire.
  • Additional longevity increases in years following top salary.
  • Officer hired as lateral transfer shall be paid the following wage rate:
  • Two to Four years of prior service shall be paid - $74,917.96
  • Five or more years of prior service shall be paid - $78,317.37
  • Vacation allowance corresponds with the position in the wage matrix
  • Four (4) Personal Days per anniversary date
  • Compensatory time can be accumulated up to 100 hours
  • Ten (10) paid Holidays
  • Health, Dental and Life Insurance
  • Pension Plan and insurance benefits upon retirement

Position Details

The Sauk Village Police Department is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals for a lateral position of Police Officer.

Minimum qualifications include:

• 21 years of age
• U.S. Citizen
• High school graduate (or equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Valid FOID card
• No felony or domestic violence convictions
• At least two (2) years’ experience as a full-time, sworn officer of a regular police department in any municipal, county, university, or State law enforcement agency
• Must possess a State of Illinois Law Enforcement Certification from the Illinois Law
• Enforcement Training and Standards Board as a law enforcement officer.

All qualified applications will be required to:

• Pass an oral interview
• Pass a thorough background investigation, including possible credit check
• Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, polygraph and psychological evaluation
