Position Details

The Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts are currently seeking to fill full time and part time positions within their organizations. Positions include full time and part time FF/PM and FF/EMT, along with part time Paramedics and EMT's.

Marengo Fire Rescue Districts wants motivated individuals who are dedicated to duty, community and teamwork. Marengo covers 140 sq. miles with three stations. The District is staffed by 7 members per shift that work a rotating 24/48 hour schedule.

Process as follows:

• Pass an in-person interview
• Sign off on release for personal information authorization forms
• Pass a thorough background investigation, which includes interviews with current and/or all previous employers
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Interview with the Chief 

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age at time of hire
• U.S. Citizen
• High school graduate or GED
• CPAT or Ability to pass a department physical agility exam.
• Updated immunization and physical within 1 year of application.
• Must not possess any felony convictions, or any domestic related convictions
• Must be of good moral character and must be in good mental and physical condition
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and overnight
• Applicants must possess a Firefighter II or Basic Fire Ops Certificate issued by the Illinois State Fire Marshal
• Applicant must possess an IDPH Paramedic License or EMT-B license.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License (Class B non CDL preferred but not required)
