Registration starts at 7:30 AM

Mandatory Orientation starts at 8:00 AM

You must be on time and show your driver’s license. THE DOORS WILL BE LOCKED AT 8:00 AM.

Written Examination will start immediately after Orientation

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be able to speak and read the English Language
• Minimum 21 - 35 years of age (unless otherwise provided by Statute)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License
• Be of good moral character and be able to perform all the duties and tasks assigned to a Worth Police Officer.
• Be free from the use of illegal drugs.

Applicants must successfully pass:

• Written exam
• Polygraph exam
• Drug screen
• Oral interview
• Background investigation

Applicants must also meet the criteria established by Illinois State Statutes and the Worth Police and Fire Commissioners.

After a conditional job offer, but prior to actual employment, a candidate must pass a medical exam and psychological exam, all in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Please Note: To any person who is entitled to military, educational, or law enforcement preference points whose names appear on the register of eligible, the Board shall add five (5) points (Sections 5/0-2.1-8 and 5/10-2.1-9) upon request of the applicant. Such preference points shall not be cumulative.
