Position Details

The Johnsburg Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer (Entry Level and Lateral).

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States 
• High School Diploma or GED 
• Valid Driver’s License 
• Valid FOID Card (or ability to obtain prior to hire) 
• Must be at least 21 years of age by the date of the final eligibility list, unless otherwise exempt by law 
• Must meet all requirements of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) 
• Vision correctable to 20/20 in each eye 
• Must successfully complete all phases of the hiring process, including background investigation

Testing Information:

• Written examination and POWER Test scheduling details will be provided after the application deadline 
• Candidates may either:
• Participate in testing conducted by the Johnsburg Police Department
• OR provide a valid, non-expired POWER Test Card from a recognized Illinois agency
