Salary:

• Starting (January 2026):

  • $72,963 (Officers who meet qualifications with part-time status)
  • Officers with at least one year of experience start between $79,798 (Step 1) and $95,025 (Step 5); Level of pay is based on experience 

  Top Out: $105,274 (Step 6)

  Benefits:

  • Rotating 12-hour shift work schedule (0700-1900 and 1900-0700)
  • Locked rotating days off, 3-day weekends

Position Details

Applicants Requirements:

• No felony convictions and must be of good moral character: Note: a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants from further consideration.
• Valid Driver’s License 
• Valid FOID card
• Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. equivalent
• Be certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as full-time sworn police officer

• A copy of your High School Diploma or GED Certificate
• A copy of your Driver's License
• A copy of your U.S. Military DD-214 form, if applicable
• A copy of your certificate of completion of Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Academy Training

Must have at least 12 months, uninterrupted service, in good standing, within the last 36-months in a full-time capacity, or at least 24-months of consistent service, in good standing, in a part-time capacity, with one or more recognized Illinois police agencies, and who has obtained certification through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
