Job Announcement – Public Safety Information Technician

The Village of Streamwood, Illinois (pop. 40,838), seeks qualified candidates for the position of Public Safety Information Technician in the IT Department.

Qualifications and Requirements:

This is a skilled professional position assisting with the administration, operation and coordination of the Village’s public safety computer systems, ensuring that the existing and future systems function properly and fully support all facets of the Village’s public safety departments.

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of four years related experience in the Public Safety information and technology environment, with experience in network and systems maintenance and operations, and municipal computer applications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to plan and organize in accordance with workflow and established priorities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Village employees.
• Ability to develop a consensus among a variety of system users.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Requires the use of an automobile.
• Must possess a current/valid driver’s license.
