Position Details

HOURS:

Various 6 - 8 hour shifts

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a Certified Police Officer - Current or recently retired Law Enforcement Officer
• Must pass a background check and medical physical
• Willingness to work a minimum of six (6) to eight (8) shifts per month
• All new hires must be an Illinois Resident
• Must be able to swim

JOB SUMMARY:

McHenry County Sheriff's Office is seeking applicants for Marine Unit Deputy. The positions are available to work various shifts during the months of May through October. 

JOB FUNCTION:

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Marine Unit is responsible for general patrol and enforcement of Illinois law, Maritime law and local ordinances of the Fox Waterway system from the Algonquin Dam to Pistakee Lake. The unit provides safety and education of all recreational boaters on the waterway system within McHenry County. The unit patrols seven days a week with 6-8 hour shifts at various hours. Upon hire, necessary training and uniforms will be provided.
