Position Details

The Maywood Police Department is a full-service police department located 10 miles west of the City of Chicago and is seeking motivated, professional, and community-oriented individuals to join our team as Certified Part-Time Police Officers.

Applicants must successfully complete a character background investigation, psychological, and medical examination, etc.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• You must be certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board, or be certified by another state where training and experience would qualify you to become certified. 
• Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State driver's license 
• Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character described in State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6 
• Must be a U.S. citizen 
• Must be able to read and write the English language effectively; And complete all phases of testing 
• Must reside within a (15) mile radius of the Village of Maywood within 1 year of employment date 
• Must work a minimum of 24 hours in a two-week period/maximum 1,000 hours annually
