• Starting (Effective January 1, 2026):

  • Non-Certified: $90,940.00
  • Certified: $110,655.00
  • Max salary for patrol office: $124,541.00

PATROL OFFICER ENTRANCE EXAM

The Civil Service Commission will conduct an examination for the position of Patrol Officer on November 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM at:

Village of Hodgkins Park District

8997 Lyons Street

Hodgkins, Illinois

A P.O.W.E.R. Card from a certified testing agency is needed to apply, as the Hodgkins Civil Service Commission no longer conducts a P.O.W.E.R. Test.

Application packets will be available on the Hodgkins Police Department website starting Friday, September 18, and available through the afternoon of Friday, October 30, 2026:

There is a $20.00 fee for the application on the website, non-refundable.

The other required forms, and instructions for submission of all packet materials, will also be available on the website’s application portal. 

All applications must be turned in at the Hodgkins Police Department no later than October 30, 2026 at 6:00 PM. No late submissions will be accepted.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Age Requirements: At least 21 years of age and under 36 years of age unless otherwise exempted by statute.
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Driver's License: Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Education: Must have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
• Character: No felony convictions and be of good moral character.
• Residency: No residency requirement.
