• Salary is based upon experience and prior service. The minimum starting salary for a previously trained and certified patrol officer is $75,163 (this amount is effective until 04/30/2021).

Position Details

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the City of Countryside is accepting applications to create a Police Officer Lateral Entry Eligibility List.

Applications are valid for one year from the date of submission.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must meet the following:

• Must be a certified police officer with the State of Illinois through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and have served in good standing in another law enforcement agency for at least 12 months preceding the application OR Applicants who have previously been certified as a law enforcement officer in another state must meet the conditions of reciprocity as regulated by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
• Must be at least 21 years of age but must not have reached the age of 36 at time of application.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Must have earned a minimum of 60 accredited college/university credit hours or completed military service with an honorable discharge.
• Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character, of temperate habits, of sound health, and must be physically able to perform the essential job functions of the position of police officer.
• No residency requirement.
