Position Details

The Village of Rantoul Board of Fire and Police Commissioners will be accepting applications February 11, 2019 through March 31, 2019 to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer.

Minimum qualifications include:

• 21 to 34 years of age*
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Excellent physical condition
• No felony convictions
• Eyesight corrected to 20/20 in each eye
• Selected applicant will be required to live within a twenty mile radius of the corporate limits of Rantoul within six months after the completion of probationary period.

*(A veteran shall be allowed to exceed the maximum age provision by the number of years served on active military duty, but by no more than 10 years of active military duty.)

Applicants must successfully complete a written entrance examination, psychological testing, thorough background investigation, oral interview, and a physical examination which includes a drug screening.

Applicants are required to pass a physical agility test to successfully complete the police training academy.
