Position Details

The Village of Roselle, IL (population 22,763) seeks three full-time Records Assistants in the Police Department.

Roselle is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

The position works various rotating shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. performing complex and varied specialized clerical work, receiving the public at the police station's service desk, providing internal support for Village employees, and maintaining police records within a shared computer system. Employees in this position will be expected to be able to work some evening hours, rotating weekends, and some holidays.

Major responsibilities include:

• Serving as first line of contact for answering telephone calls and greeting visitors to the Police Department
• Maintaining accurate electronic databases
• Preparing various reports, scanned and photocopied documents
• Providing efficient and timely responses to requests for information and services from the public, Village employees and other governmental agencies
• Monitoring audio and visual security system
• Assisting in all other duties as assigned to Records staff

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in highly confidential and professional work environment is preferred.
• Strong typing, written and oral communications skills are essential.
• Must possess demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft desktop products, including word processing, spreadsheets, database and email applications.
• Completion of secondary education, LEADS certification, and experience with the DuPage County NetRMS are highly desirable.

Successful candidates must take and pass all pre-employment testing, work related medical exam/drug screen, and background investigation and/or polygraph.

The salary range for this position is:

$39,287 - $60,003
