Position Details

POLICE RECORDS TECHNICIAN

Part-Time

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Police Records Technician.

General Statement of Duties:

• Under general supervision, responsible for a wide variety of technical and clerical law enforcement support services related to processing, gathering, recording, maintaining, retrieving, reviewing and distributing law enforcement data and information;
• Ensuring that records and information are accurate, clear and comprehensive for law enforcement personnel and the general public;
• Researching and responding to internal and external requests (FOIA requests, records checks, & traffic crash reports, etc.) in a timely manner;
• Preparing court documents, processing expungements and performing other specialized administrative duties as assigned.
• Employees in this job class are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of highly sensitive information in compliance with established codes, rules and regulations. 

Minimum requirements include:

• H.S. diploma/GED
• 1 to 2 years of related experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Ability to obtain LEADS certification within 6 months of employment.
• Familiarity with law enforcement, the Freedom of Information Act and Laserfiche preferred.
• Must have exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, be highly organized and able to work independently.
• Excellent customer service skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills are required.

General Work Hours:

Monday – Friday

29 hours per week
