EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT - FIRE DEPARTMENT

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Fire Chief, this individual is responsible for developing and coordinating diverse administrative and support activities. Nature of the work performed requires a professional manner in all dealings with the public and Village and department staff. Work requires the exercise of considerable judgment, initiative, and discretion.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, math proficiency, and have proven technical skills in various software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and G Suite. Firehouse software/database software experience is a plus.
• The candidate must be able to research, compile, analyze, and report data.
• Experience in budget analysis, purchasing, accounts payable processing, scheduling, and payroll is necessary.
• In addition, the candidate must have outstanding organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, with multi-tasking capabilities in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with the public and a high level of integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information is essential.
• Associate’s degree in public administration, political science, human resources, business management or a related field or completion of other specialized certification and five years of related experience is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
