The Board of Police Commissioners for the Village of Elburn is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.
Testing is being conducted for at least one new hire and to establish an Eligibility List for future hiring needs.
The Village of Elburn is located in picturesque Kane County and is approximately 45 miles from downtown Chicago. With its small-town character and growing population, the Village of Elburn offers an abundant opportunity to residents and businesses. The community has convenient shopping and entertainment nearby. Additionally, there is easy access to the City of Chicago by way of the Metra train that passes through the heart of the downtown of Elburn.

Applicants who have been awarded a certificate attesting to their successful completion of the minimum standards Basic Law Enforcement Training Course, as provided in the Illinois Police Training Act, may be given preference in appointment over non-certified applicants.
All individuals meeting eligibility requirements are encouraged to continue with the application process.
There is a $45.00 non-refundable application fee. Applications are NOT available at the Elburn Police Department or Village Hall.
