The Board of Police Commissioners of the Village of Gilberts is seeking applicants for the purpose of creating a Police Officer Eligibility List for Hiring.

There is a $25 non-refundable application processing fee that must accompany the application in the form of a money order or check made out to the Village of Gilberts.

Written Test Date will be held:

Saturday, September 12, 2020

Due to the COVID19 candidates will be notified of the location of the test and scheduled time via text messaging or email.

Minimum Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship  
• Be at least 21 years of age but not over 35 at time of application, except as provided in 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6 
• Have a High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent 
• Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license 
• No felony convictions 
• Residency within 30 miles of the Village of Gilberts (within 180 days of appointment)
• Meet other criteria as established by the Police Commission and the State of Illinois

Compensation/Salary:

The current base salary is $58,902 and tops out at $77,488 after 7 years of service. Full time officers are represented by the Metropolitan Alliance of Police, Gilberts Chapter #423. Officers receive an excellent benefit package and police pension program.
