Position Details

South Barrington Full-Time Police Officer

South Barrington is an exceptional community. The South Barrington Police Commission is looking for exceptional candidates interested in joining the ranks of the South Barrington Police Department as a full time police officer.

There is presently one opening.

Our standards are high. We offer the opportunity to join a professional organization performing critical work in the community with honor, integrity and respect in every situation.

Our Requirements:

• Between 21 and 35 years old, or as otherwise permitted by law
• United States citizen
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid driver's license
• Successful completion of the Police Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test in the last six months.

The application packet consists of a Village application form and an Authorization to Release Information form.

Please submit your legible and signed application packet with the following documents to receive consideration:

1. A certified copy of your birth certificate or certificate of naturalization
2. A copy of your high school diploma or GED certificate
3. A copy of your college or university degree
4. A sealed and certified transcript of your course work for an accredited college or university
5. A copy of a valid driver's license
6. If applicable, a copy of your U.S. Military DD-214 form
7. If applicable, a copy of your certificate of completion of Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Academy training or comparable training from another state
8. A copy of the document confirming you passed the POWER test on or after April 17, 2020
