Position Details

The Leyden Fire Protection District is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Part-Time Paramedic.

Qualifications for Part-Time Paramedic:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be IDPH licensed EMT-P and in good standing in Loyola's EMS
• Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License
• Must not have any felony or misdemeanor convictions

Job Description:

• Candidates will be responsible for the district ambulance
• Candidates will be responsible for patient care and completing all necessary patient care report forms
• Candidates will report to the Lieutenant while on duty
• Candidates will perform duties as they are assigned
• Candidates will work either a 12 or 24 hour shift
• Candidates will be required to complete Continuing Education Programs for Loyola
• Candidates must be able to work at least 72 hours a month

Benefits:

• Starting pay is $15.00 per hour without experience in 911 calls and outside of the Loyola system for the last two (2) years
• Starting pay is $16.00 per hour for experience with 911 calls and in the Loyola system for the last two (2) years
• Salary increases of .50 cents per six (6) months/500 hours up to $18.00 per hour based on performance elevations
• Time and a half for six (6) holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
