Firefighter Minimum Requirements:

• $25.00 non-refundable application fee
• U.S. Citizen
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Possess valid driver's license, which must be shown as ID at all phases of testing
• Minimum age of 21 by date of conditional offer off employment, and less than 35, unless applicant falls under one of the statutory exceptions
• Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) with Ladder Climb card conducted by a licensed agency within 12 months prior to the date of the written exam (1/9/2020- 1/9/2021)
• Illinois licensed EMT-B or EMT-P at time of application (EMT-P to be considered for hiring from eligibility list)
• Valid and current Auto Insurance Card
• Military Discharge Papers (DD214) if applicable
• Proof of any other degrees and/or training certifications
• Photo 2"x2"
• Submission of 
• “Countryside Fire Protection District Background Authorization Form.” (Background Authorization Form MUST be notarized) and “FCRA Authorization to Obtain a Consumer Report”
• Great moral character, excellent health and meeting all requirements of the Board of Commissioners of Countryside Fire Protection District and State of Illinois

Doors open for sign in at 8:30 a.m., please arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in.; NO LATE ADMITTANCE. The written exam will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. The exact location will be provided to eligible applicants at a later date and dependent on current COVID restrictions.
