Position Details

The Board of Fire & Police Commissioners of Homewood, IL will hold a written examination on 06/08/19 to establish an eligibility list for the position of POLICE OFFICER.

Starting Salary: $61,833 as of 05/01/19

Qualifications:

• Applicant must submit a $20.00 non-refundable application fee;
• Applicant must be a United States Citizen and/or alien admitted for permanent residence or lawfully admitted for temporary residence with evidence of intention to become a United States Citizen;
• Applicant must be at least 21 (by June 8, 2019) and not over 35 years of age at such time as the final eligibility list is posted (unless otherwise exempt per Illinois State Statute 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6);
• Applicant must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours earned at a certified college or university (no military or law enforcement waiver);
• Applicant must have a valid driver’s license; and
• Applicant must submit a copy of an Illinois POWER (Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report) test card, issued no earlier than June 8, 2018, with their completed application. A POWER test card can be secured at one of the following locations:
