You must meet the following minimum requirements:
$25 non-refundable application fee
Be a United States citizen
Possess a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED)
Possess a valid driver's license
Be 21 years of age, but not older than 34 years of age by the time you apply (unless exempt from the age limitation according to Illinois State Statute)
Obtain residency a maximum of 30 miles from the territorial limits of the village within one (1) year after the two-year probationary period of employment is completed
Possess a valid Illinois Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test card demonstrating that the applicant has successfully completed the IL POWER test no more than one year prior to the date of the written examination
Applications who have not taken the POWER test between 6/8/2018 and 6/8/2019 must obtain a certificate of completion from the following licensed agencies:

Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Sign-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Please arrive no later than 8:00 AM with a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in.) Testing will consist of a written examination (Law Enforcement Officer Selection Tool - LST) assessing job-related cognitive abilities, personality characteristics and behavioral traits for a police officer position.
